This course series will focus on the close relationship the hip has on the function of the lower back. Much like how a little sister irritates a big sister and finds a way to get under her skin, the hip and lower back have the same relationship. When the little sister, the hip, is not working well, she has a way of irritating her older sister, who she shares a room with. Conversely, problems in the lower back will also cause irritation in the hip region. In this course we will learn how the ROM, strength, alignment, and mechanics of the hip and lower back affect each other. This will be particularly important as many are working from home, sitting on a desk chair, or spending lots of time on the couch, which results in problems in both areas. This series will be very progressive and start with management of acute pain and culminate with more advanced functional stretching and strengthening of the hip and lower back.
